The following is old info (dating from before the event) which is preserved here simply for your bemusement:
Friday’s tour of NAS Ft. Worth, JRB has been cancelled due to the current security situation at all US Military bases. The Base commander sends personal regrets, and we apologize for the inconvenience. The Alliance airshow is still a GO and we are looking into substituting another event in place of the cancelled tour, such as a tour of the Cavanaugh Flight Museum or something similar.

Bronco Fest III will be held at the Clarion Hotel in the Sundance Square tourist area in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex area. This biannual event is held in accordance with the OBA Mission Statement: Preserve and perpetuate the history of the OV-10 Bronco and the people who designed, built, flew, and maintained the aircraft from its inception to the present. Bronco Fest is a time to immerse yourself in Bronco lore, make many new friends and meet up with old ones, learn new things, and above all, have a lot of fun. You need not have any actual “official” tie-in with OV-10s to participate, and we have activities planned for the whole family.
Bronco Fest 99 was a smashing success and helped establish OBA as a can-do and fun group. We’re applying the lessons learned to make Bronco Fest III even better!
(Please note, the date is different than the one originally announced. Get more info here.)

Accommodations:
We will be headquartered and billeted in the Clarion Hotel Performing Arts in downtown Ft. Worth, TX. The Clarion is one block away from historic Sundance Square, across the street from the Bass Performance Hall, 10 minutes from the “Stock Yard Area” and 15 minutes from the OBA Museum.
Event Management:
The OBA has contracted with EEM Customs Tours to coordinate BF III. EEM is a destination management company with a superb track record and an enthusiastic staff who are experts in creating and coordinating special events for organizations similar to OBA. EEM is managed by Carolyn Taylor Petty, wife of former USAF OV-10 pilot Ben Petty. Meetings with Carolyn and Ms. Toni Border, EEM’s Director of Meeting and Conference Services, confirmed to us that BF III will be a premier event.
Communication Channels:
We are looking forward to once again having a majority of our members and supporters attend BF III (last time we had 80% of the members in attendance… can we beat that this time? Let’s try!!) As we did for Bronco Fest 99, we will establish an e-mail registration process and have a mailing list to inform you of the latest event news. We will also send updates out via OBA e-mail lists.
Local OBA member Jim “Boomer” Bloomberg ( jlbloomberg@netscape.net ) is our Project Manager for BF III, in conjunction with OBA President Ron “SandDollar” Fix ( sndlr07@aol.com ). Any and all assistance you can provide them, such as additional ideas or recommendations, will be appreciated!!
We look forward to seeing you at BF III!
